The piece is entitled”La soire dans Grenade”(An Evening in Granada) and is a masterful display of Debussy’sImpressionisticgenius, creating a vivid, aural postcard of Spain, despite the composer having only visited the country briefly. The work is characterized by the persistent, hypnotic rhythm of the SpanishHabaeradance, combined with melodies inspired by Arabic modes and the strumming sounds of the flamenco guitar. The piece masterfully uses the characteristicHabaera rhythm(Mouvement de Habaera) as its foundation, creating a mysterious and sensuous atmosphere, complete with suggestedguitar strummingandMoorish-inspired melodies. The editor,Solymos Pter(19102000), was a professor at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music for nearly five decades and was instrumental in introducing complex 20th-century French works to the Hungarian audience, specializing in the absolute fidelity to the composer’s score.rdekessgekALa soire dans Grenade(Granadai este) olyannyira hiteles brzolsa a spanyol zennek, hogyManuel de Fallaspanyol zeneszerz kzismerten megjegyezte, a darab csodlatosan visszaadja Spanyolorszgot, annak ellenre, hogy Debussy csak nhny rt tlttt a spanyol hatr tloldaln, Madrid kzelben.
