He wrote roughly 15 Italian operas, yet they were overshadowed by Mozart’s works for centuries. Modern scholarship has revived interest in them, revealing them to be musically rich and emotionally poignant.Orpheus and Eurydice:Three of the choruses in this book come fromLanima del filosofo(Orpheus and Eurydice). Interestingly, this was Haydn’s last opera, written for London in 1791, but due to political intrigues, it was not performed during his lifetime. The choruses in this work are widely considered some of the finest in his entire vocal output. The Translators:The Hungarian texts were crafted by Raics Istvn, a noted translator who ensured the rhythm and flow of the Hungarian lyrics matched Haydn’s original musical phrasing perfectly.rdekessgekHaydn, az operaszerz:Haydn plyafutsa nagy rszt az Esterhzy-udvarban tlttte, ahol az opera kzponti szerepet jtszott.
