The book recounts his years as apolitical prisoner in the Soviet Gulag (19841987), where he was imprisoned for anti-Soviet propaganda. Despite the grim setting, Berdzenisvili writes with warmth, intellect, and irony about friendship, resilience, and the indestructible human spirit. From learning dead languages to holding poetry readings in the camp, he paints a portrait of an unlikely intellectual oasis amid the darkness of oppression. Written decades later,Szent sttsgserves as both a personal testimony and a eulogy for a vanished world a cheerful requiem for the final era of the Gulag system.Hungarian Translation ttekintsASzent sttsgLevan Berdzenisvilimegrendt, mgis ders visszaemlkezse a Szovjetuni utols gulgjban tlttt vekre (19841987).
