After the gentle, quiet main theme is played, Haydn repeats the theme even softer, only to suddenly blast the audience with a dramatic fortissimo G major chord, often attributed to his desire to wake up London’s drowsy concert-goers.The London Triumphs:Symphony No. 94 was written in 1791 during Haydns hugely successful first visit to London. The “surprise” effect contributed significantly to its immediate international acclaim and lasting popularity.Mastery of Form:Despite the famous joke, the symphony is a model of Classical form and elegance. The first movement (Vivace assai) is a triumph of sonata form, balancing witty themes with tight formal structure.Fodor kos:The editor, Fodor kos, contributed to several key EMB study score editions, ensuring this score provides a clear and reliable musical text for analysis and study.rdekessgekA Hres Meglepets:A Meglepets (Paukenschlag, sz szerint stdob ts) a msodik ttelben, az Andantban kvetkezik be.
