The third movement, “Danse du bb-Pilule,” features playful, rhythmic vocalizations meant to mimic the sounds of an infant.Theological Roots:Messiaen often described himself as a “theological composer.” These vocal works are not merely songs but “musical translations” of sacred concepts like grace, resurrection, and the eternity of the soul.Rhythmic Innovation:This collection contains early examples of Messiaens “non-retrogradable rhythms” (rhythms that read the same forward and backward), which he believed mirrored the concept of eternity.Track Listing (Contents)Trois Mlodies (1930)Pourquoi?
