The work is a vibrant example of programmatic music, translating Carroll’s literary concepts into detailed instrumental writing.Three of the seven movements are dedicated as homages to composers whose music shares an affinity with the themes of Carroll’s work:Gyrgy Ligeti(Down the Rabbit Hole),David del Tredici(The Pool of Tears), andUnsuk Chin(Through the Looking Glass).
