Mhlfelds tone so inspired Brahms that he returned to his desk to write four of the greatest works in the clarinet repertoire.Late Style:The Eb Major Sonata is noticeably more mellow and lyrical than its companion (the F Minor Sonata), reflecting Brahms’ late-life peace and mastery of form. The Variation Finale:The third movement is a stunning set of variations, a form in which Brahms was a recognized master, ending the sonata with grace rather than bravado.Urtext Quality:TheWiener Urtextseries is highly regarded for its “clear layout” and “easy-to-read” typography, which is especially helpful in the complex rhythmic passages of late Brahms.PublishersUniversal Edition / Wiener Urtext Edition (Vienna)We value your feedback!
