This 2019 composition is atranscript of a senseless poem, where every sound is a precise instrumental representation of the poem’s linguistic elements. Balogh abstracts spoken language by translating vowels intomusical soundsand consonants intovarious noisesproduced by the string instruments. While belonging to the composer’s “text-music” series,Dadamusikmoves beyond exact acoustic representation toward the complete dissolution of language into instrumentaltimbre. Knowledge of theUrsonateis not required for a full appreciation of the piece, which explores the organizing structure of text in forming unique contemporary chamber music. The publication includes both thefull score and partsand was commissioned by the Kunststiftung Nordhein-Westfalen, dedicated to the renownedAsasello Quartett.ttekints: Balogh MtDadamusik- Absztrakt Nyelvi VonsngyesADadamusikBalogh Mt (szl. 1990) magyar zeneszerz ttr kortrs vonsngyese, amely zenei tisztelgsKurt Schwittersbefolysos dadaista hangkltemnye, azUrsonateeltt. However,Dadamusikrepresents a further step in abstraction. The source material, Kurt SchwittersUrsonate(Primal Sonata), is one of the most famous examples ofDadaist sound poetryfrom the early 20th century, a movement that sought to undermine conventional logic and aesthetic norms. Schwitters’ poem is a four-movement sonata structure built entirely from invented, meaningless syllables (e.g., “Fmms b w t z Uu…”).Baloghs genius lies in translating this spoken language abstraction into the non-verbal domain of a string quartet, where the traditional melodic role of the violin is interwoven with percussive and extended techniques to represent the “consonantal noises.” This unique approach to transcription tr
