Edited by Balla Gyrgy and Prhle Henrik and published by Editio Musica Budapest (EMB), this versatile edition brings three delightful chamber sonatas by the Neapolitan master Niccol Jommelli (1714-1774) to modern performers. These sonatas epitomize the graceful style of the mid-Baroque, offering charming melodies and spirited interplay between the two solo voices and the basso continuo. Crucially, the designation allows for instrumental flexibility, making the sonatas playable onflutes, oboes, or violins, accompanied by a keyboard instrument (with a realized figured bass part). This edition is a valuable resource for chamber groups, students, and early music enthusiasts looking for high-quality, authentic Baroque repertoire suitable for mixed instrumental combinations.
