His work often follows the structural norms of the time, emphasizing clear, dance-like movements. The source material for this edition, hisOp. 12, was originally for two violins. The history of this particular version is fascinating: the original collection was published in 1678. It gained international popularity, leading to subsequent revised editions in London and Amsterdam (c. 1725), which re-instrumentated the pieces for the increasingly popularflute (or recorder). This Editio Musica Budapest edition, curated byIstvn Homolya, faithfully reproduces this popular, period-appropriateflute and bassarrangement, making a piece of musical history accessible to modern chamber ensembles.rdekessgek (Hungarian)Giovanni Maria Bononcini (16421678)kiemelked olasz barokk zeneszerz, hegedmvsz s zeneelmlet-r volt, aki Bolognban tevkenykedett.
