This edition presents three vivid pieces that embody contrasting moodsa pair of scherzo-character pieces in triple time bracketing a more lyrical, slow movement in duple time. The first burlesque, titled “Quarrel,” is the work of Mrta from November 1908, depicting a dramatic dispute through animated gestures and playful taunts. The second piece, “Slightly Tipsy” (also rendered as “A Bit Drunk”), is one of Bartks ingenious program music miniatures with distinctive performance directions that lead to an indifferent vocal-like phrase before a coarse continuation. By the final measure of its middle section, the character collapses dramatically, evoking the pitiable final image reminiscent of the wooden puppet in The Wooden Prince ballet. The third, untitled burlesque marked “Molto vivo, capriccioso,” further captivates the listeners imagination with its explosive, almost grotesque finale that recalls the energetic rush found in Bartks bagatelle, “My Dancing Sweetheart.” This bilingual edition (Hungarian and French) is a must-have for pianists and enthusiasts of modern 20th-century repertoire.Hungarian Translation ttekints:”A Bartk Bla: Hrom burleszk zongorra” egy figyelemre mlt vlogats a magyar zeneszerz egyik meghatroz miniatr mveibl.
