The work combines spoken narration, choral sections, solo songs, and instrumental interludes, weaving together a diverse selection of texts on the theme of angels. The libretto features a compelling mixture of Biblical texts (Revelation, Psalms, Genesis), early Church writings, medieval mysticism, and poetry by William Blake and Christina Rossetti, among others. This breadth gives the piece a rich spiritual and literary dimension.Britten composed The Company of Heaven early in his career, but it already displays his signature musical styleluminous harmonies, sensitivity to text setting, and expressive contrasts. Though long considered a lesser-known work, it has gained renewed appreciation for its visionary depth and musical beauty. This vocal score includes all choral and solo vocal parts with a piano reduction of the orchestral score, making it ideal for rehearsals and smaller-scale performances. It is a perfect resource for advanced choirs, university music departments, church music directors, and those studying Brittens early sacred compositions.Magyar Lers:Benjamin Britten The Company of Heaven cm mve egy kivteles, drmai kantta, amelyet 1937-ben mutattak be a BBC rdi Michaelmas nnepre (Szent Mihly s minden angyal nnepe) ksztett msorban.
