Written as a training piece for a piano method, the work captures the composer’s playful fascination with earlyRagtime and Cake Walkrhythms imported from America, similar in character to his famousGolliwogg’s Cake Walk. This specific edition, published by Editio Musica Budapest (EMB), presents a charming and effective arrangement forFlute and PianobyNagy Olivr. The arrangement is perfectly suited to the flute’s agility, allowing the solo instrument to deliver the piece’s infectious, driving rhythm and lighthearted melody, making it a popular choice for recitals and pedagogical use.ttekintsClaude DebussyLe petit Ngrecm darabja, angolulThe Little Negro(magyarul:A kis nger), egy temperamentumos s szinkplt szl zongoradarab, amelyet 1909-ben komponlt. While the terminology is reflective of the cultural language of the era, the music itself is a joyful, energetic exploration of the rhythmic forms that would profoundly influence 20th-century classical music. Debussy originally titled the pieceThe Cake Walk of the Little Black Doll(Cake-walk du petit Ngre) when it was intended for theMthode lmentaire de pianoby Thodore Lack. The transcriber,Nagy Olivr(19272016), a respected Hungarian musicologist and composer, was particularly skilled at adapting piano repertoire for wind instruments, ensuring the flute part flows lyrically while maintaining the crucial syncopated pulse.rdekessgekALe petit Ngrecm a 19. szzad vgi s a 20. szzad eleji npszer minstrel s korai jazz ltal befolysolt zenre utal.
