Awarded the 2002 Temple Church Prize, this work stands out for its thoughtful innovation and ability to bridge historical sacred traditions with modern harmonic language.Keelings setting preserves the devotional intimacy and spiritual depth of the original Latin text, while introducing harmonic richness, dynamic contrasts, and a delicately evolving texture that captivates both performers and listeners. His use of modal and extended tonality provides a sense of timelessness, allowing the ancient words to resonate in a fresh and deeply moving way.Written with sensitivity to the vocal capabilities of mixed-ability choirs, this work is accessible yet sophisticated. The organ accompaniment adds warmth and resonance, supporting the vocal lines without overpowering them, and further enhancing the meditative atmosphere.”Ave Verum Corpus” is ideal for liturgical services, sacred concerts, or contemplative choral programming, especially for ensembles seeking to explore a repertoire that connects historical liturgy with modern choral expression. Its emotional restraint, combined with its haunting beauty, leaves a lasting impression and rewards careful interpretation.Hungarian Translation – Overview (ttekints)Andrew Keeling Ave Verum Corpus cm mve egy SATB vegyeskarra s orgonra rt lenygz kompozci, amely a 14. szzadi eucharisztikus himnusz modern tdolgozst knlja.
