A student of Beethoven and the teacher of Franz Liszt, Czerny wrote over a thousand works, the vast majority of which were dedicated to solving technical problems at the piano. His studies are foundational to the “finger independence” required for classical repertoire.Henri Bertini (17981876)was a French pianist and composer whose etudes are celebrated for being more melodious and character-driven than typical exercises. His inclusion in this volume provides a necessary balance, allowing students to practice phrasing and lyrical playing (“cantabile”) alongside pure mechanics. The Hungarian Pedagogy:This volume represents the high standards of the Hungarian music education system. By categorizing studies by technique (e.g., “Tremolo Motion” or “Polyphony”), the compilers ensure that the student understands exactlywhythey are practicing a specific piece, leading to faster and more intelligent progress.rdekessgek (Hungarian)Carl Czerny (17911857)a modern zongoratechnika atyjnak tekinthet.
