This 16-page score seamlessly intertwines two powerful liturgical sources: the Latin Libera Me a prayer from the Requiem Mass and the ancient Hebrew lamentations of Jeremiah 5, forming a meditation on grief, faith, and redemption. This work is characterized by rich harmonic language, expressive melodic contours, and emotional intensity. Pitts employs shifting tonal colors and layered textures to evoke a deep spiritual response from both performers and listeners. The dual nature of the text pleading for deliverance while reflecting on communal suffering gives the piece an extraordinary emotional and theological depth.Ideal for liturgical use, memorial services, or concert performances, this piece offers singers the opportunity to explore phrasing, intonation, and textual expression at an advanced level. The a cappella setting challenges choirs to maintain blend, balance, and dynamic sensitivity throughout the performance. It is a composition that not only resonates musically but also leaves a lasting spiritual impression.Hungarian Translation – Overview (ttekints)A Libera Me / Lamentations 5 cm m Antony Pitts tollbl egy megrendten szp, mlyen spiritulis kruskompozci, amely vegyes karra (a cappella) rdott.
