The combined use of geomorphological, sedimentological, geochemical analytical methods, a scanning electron microscope coupled with a microprobe, the analyses of pollen, charcoal, mollusk and vertebrate remains along with radiocarbon dating and stable isotope analysis revealed two sedimentary sequences extending well back into the Last Glacial. The volume presents the results of these analyses unravelling a hitherto unknown environmental history.
