The unusual title, which translates to “The slower-than-slow” or “The very slow,” is a wry comment on the popularvalse lente(slow waltz) genre of the time, suggesting a dance of almost ethereal, languid grace. The piece is characterized by a dreamy, flexible tempo (tempo rubato), fluid melodies, and rich, shifting harmonies typical of Debussys mature Impressionist style. It has a nostalgic, almost bittersweet charm, conjuring the image of a faded memory of a dance. This reliable edition, published by Editio Musica Budapest (EMB) and prepared by the distinguished Hungarian pianist and educatorSolymos Pter, provides an excellent score for intermediate to advanced pianists seeking elegant Impressionist repertoire.ttekintsClaude DebussyLa plus que lentecm mve egy magval ragadValse pour piano(Zongora kering), amelyet 1910-ben komponlt. The cimbalom’s distinctive, shimmering sound may have influenced the delicate, ornate arpeggios found throughout the piano work. The piece was immediately popular, and Debussy quickly published an arrangement for small orchestra (which featured the cimbalom part), though the piano version remains the best known. The 1979 publication date confirms this as a mid-to-late 20th-century EMB edition of a vital piece of the French piano repertoire.rdekessgekDebussy-t aLa plus que lentemegrsra az inspirlta, amikor egy prizsi jszakai szrakozhelyen hallotta a darabotcimbalmoneladva (a kzp- s kelet-eurpai npi, valamint cignyzenben npszer, nagymret, kalapccsal ttt cimbalom).
