This book addresses the complex moral and pastoral questions involved in both homosexual orientation and activity, including an analysis of lifestyles in accord with the Christian Gospel, and those running counter to the Christian perception. Fr. Harvey, a pioneer in the pastoral care of homosexual persons through his organization Courage, gives a comprehensive view of the issues involved in homosexuality.

This book explodes two popular myths, namely, that the homosexual condition is due primarily to genetic factors; and that, once one realizes he has a homosexual orientation, he should resign himself to this condition forever. Harvey shows that many reputable therapists have provided empirical evidence that people with a homosexual condition can have a change of orientation to the heterosexual condition. He explores various pastoral programs for homosexual persons and, with the contributions from other experts, this book provides an extensive study of the possibility of change of orientation.
