His pedagogical works, like this scale book, are rooted in the rigorous Central European tradition of violin instruction.Preparing for Flesch:The explicit mention of preparing for Carl Flesch’s monumentalScale Systemunderscores the high standards of technical mastery aimed for by this pedagogical lineage. Flesch (18731944) was one of the 20th century’s most influential violin teachers.Customization in Practice:The suggestion to alter bowing, rhythm, and dynamics reflects a modern, adaptable approach to practice, where the single-line scale becomes a vehicle for dozens of different technical challenges.PublishersEditio Musica Budapest ZenemkiadPublished in Budapest, Hungary.
