This esteemed 1967 edition from Editio Musica Budapest remains a preferred choice for violinists worldwide. It features the authoritative editorial work of the legendaryTtrai Vilmos, whose bowings and fingerings capture the icy shivers and technical ferocity of Vivaldi’s most atmospheric concerto. With a precise piano reduction bySulyok Imre, this edition expertly translates the original string orchestra score into a balanced chamber setting. From the staccato “shivering” of the first movement to the warm, lyricalLargoby the fireside, and the precarious “walking on ice” in the finale, this score is a masterpiece of programmatic music.
