This specific piece is the third of theFour Hungarian Folksongs(BB 99), composed in 1930. Published by Editio Musica Budapest in 2012, this score allows choirs to perform one of Bartks most distinctive and emotionally resonant folk settings. The work utilizes a complex, eight-part harmonic texture to deepen the expression of the original Hungarian folk melody, which deals with the universal theme of a girl searching for a spouse. Bartk’s arrangement transcends mere harmonization, applying sophisticated, often chromatic, counterpoint that highlights the expressive power of the human voice. This piece is recommended for experienced choirs capable of handling its dense texture and highly idiomatic Hungarian rhythmic and modal language. The score is presented entirely inHungarian.ttekintsAz elad lny (Finding a Husband)egy lenygz s gyakran humoros npdalfeldolgozsnagy vegyeskarra (SSAATTBB A Capella)Bartk Bla (18811945)tollbl.
